Post-Rhinoplasty Follow-Up: Pain Management and Emergency Contact
Plastic Surgeon (speaking English) and 患者 (speaking Somali) talk through “Post-Rhinoplasty Follow-Up: Pain Management and Emergency Contact”. You interpret both ways — English into Somali, and Somali into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
How have you been feeling since your rhinoplasty on Thursday afternoon? Is the pain manageable, or has it gotten noticeably worse since you woke up this morning?
Waan ku mahadsanahay su'aashaada. Xanuunku wuu jiraa, laakiin ma aha mid aan u adkaysan karin. Sanka iyo dhabannada ayaa xoogaa bararsan.
That swelling around your nose and cheeks is completely normal for day three after surgery. Have you noticed any bleeding, discharge, or unusual odour from the nostrils?
Ma jiro dhiig ka soo baxaya, Alhamdulillah. Laakiin waxaan ka baqayaa in xanuunku sii kordho habeenkan.
Good, no bleeding is very reassuring at this stage. Keep taking the prescribed paracetamol every six hours, and avoid aspirin or ibuprofen, which increase bleeding risk.
Waxaan qaatay dawadii lagu amray, laakiin haddii aan xanuun aad u daran dareemo dhaqdhaqaaqa ka dib, yaan la soo xiriiraa?
If your pain becomes severe or unbearable at any point, call our hospital's 24-hour patient line immediately, or go straight to the nearest emergency department.
Waa fahmay, waan ku mahadsanahay. Immisa toddobaad ayaan dib u imaan doonaa booqashada xigta?
Your follow-up appointment is booked in two weeks, back here at Prince of Wales Private Hospital, so we can check healing and remove the remaining stitches.
Mahadsanid. Ma dabaal cabbi karaa, ama jimicsi culus ma qaban karaa intii aan bogsan?
No swimming or submerging your face in water for at least four weeks, and please avoid strenuous exercise until your specialist clears you fully.
Waan fahmay dhammaan tilmaamaha, waanan ku mahadsanahay daryeelkaaga.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- emergency departmentWaxaad ku dhihi kartaa 'qaybta xaaladaha degdegga ah ee isbitaalka' ama si toos ah 'emergency department', laakiin ugu badnaan waxaa la isticmaalaa 'qaybta gurmadka degdega ah'.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Somali dialogues · All languages
