What happens in a full mock

  1. Choose your language and start a set. Every set pairs two different topic areas. Sign in to save the full mock and see your score.
  2. Press Start, listen to the segment once and start interpreting within 5 seconds of the chime. Press Finish attempt, then go to the next segment.
  3. If you miss something, you get one free replay per dialogue, as in the real test. Here you press Replay segment; in the real test you press Finish attempt, then Start.
  4. Feedback waits until both dialogues are finished, so you sit them without interruption.
  5. Your report gives an estimated score out of 90, a score for each dialogue, your recorded time, and what you kept, left out or changed in each segment. Then compare with the transcripts and model answers.

NAATI CCL mock test questions

Is the NAATI CCL mock test free?

Your first one is. Your first 2 complete dialogues are AI-marked free, enough for one full mock if you have not used them. You can start without an account; sign in with your email to sit both together and see your score. After that, one full mock is A$9.

How long does a mock take?

In the real test, segment audio and your speech together must stay under 20 minutes. Your mock report shows your total and recorded minutes, and warns you when your recording alone goes over 20 minutes.

Does the mock follow the real test rules?

Mostly. Each segment plays once, you start within 5 seconds of the chime, one replay per dialogue is free, and feedback waits until both dialogues are finished. It cannot copy proctoring, the ID check, the second camera or NAATI’s test screen, and its 20-minute warning counts your recording only, while NAATI’s limit also counts the segment audio. Use NAATI’s free platform test to see the real screen.

How is my mock scored?

Practice scores are estimated out of 45 per dialogue and 90 for a full mock. The CCL pass thresholds are 63 overall and at least 29 in each dialogue. Our estimate is not a NAATI result. AI marks each segment as kept / left out / changed / added, with error severity from minimal to critical. It works from your transcript; check pronunciation, pace and hesitation yourself.

How is this different from NAATI’s A$165 practice test?

NAATI’s paid practice test is marked by its examiners, costs A$165 including GST and takes 4–6 weeks to return results. This mock gives an AI estimate straight after you finish, so you can practise what you lost and sit another. A pass in either one does not give you migration points.

Can I sit more than one mock?

Yes. There are 2,797 sets, and they do not repeat a topic area inside a set. Your free allowance covers the first mock. After that: A$19 / 7 days (up to 10 full dialogues marked), A$69 / 90 days or A$99 / 180 days, or A$9 once for one full mock exam. One plan covers one language.

Can I sit a mock on my phone?

Yes, in a phone browser or the app. The real test needs a laptop or desktop computer with a built-in microphone and speakers, and no headphones, so sit at least one mock on a computer before test day.

Are these real test questions?

No. Every dialogue is original, written to NAATI’s published format and topic areas, with invented names and details.

Independent preparation by naaticcl.com, not affiliated with or endorsed by NAATI. All dialogues are original practice material. Scores are AI estimates, not NAATI test results.
