Two example segments with model answers
Examples from our original Rental Bond Dispute practice dialogue. Try interpreting before opening the answer. These are practice examples, not past test questions. Other wording can preserve the same meaning.
Example 1 · English → Mandarin
Good morning, welcome to Fair Trading. I understand you have a dispute with your agent about your rental bond. Could you tell me what happened?
Model answer
早上好,欢迎来到公平交易署。我了解到您和中介在租房押金的问题上有争议。您能跟我说说发生了什么事吗?
- greeting, welcome to Fair Trading
- dispute is with the agent
- about the rental bond
- question: what happened
Easy to miss: Fair Trading is an agency name (公平交易署), not a description of 'fair dealing'.
Example 2 · Mandarin → English
你好。我上个月底搬出去了,中介说要扣我押金里的六百澳元,理由是房子没打扫干净,还有地毯有磨损。
Model answer
Hello. I moved out at the end of last month. The agent says they want to deduct six hundred dollars from my bond, on the grounds that the house wasn't cleaned properly and the carpet is worn.
- moved out end of last month
- agent wants to deduct from bond
- amount: 600 dollars
- reason 1: house not cleaned properly
- reason 2: carpet worn
Easy to miss: The 600 is a deduction from the bond, not the full bond amount; keep both reasons.

How marking helps
Record your interpretation in the practice room. AI feedback identifies information kept, omitted, added or distorted. Compare it with the model answer and practise the difficult segments again. The full mock holds feedback until both dialogues are complete.

Frequently asked questions
Is the whole two-dialogue mock free?
Your first one is. Your first two full dialogues are marked free, and once you sign in with your email you can sit them back to back as one full mock, scored out of 90. You can start practising without an account; the score opens after a free email sign-in. After that, one more full mock exam is A$9.
What does the NAATI CCL test involve?
You interpret two dialogues between English and your other language, about 300 words each, segment by segment. Each dialogue is worth 45 marks, making 90 in total.
What score do I need to pass?
At least 29 out of 45 in each dialogue and at least 63 out of 90 overall. Both conditions must be met. Our AI score is an estimate, not a NAATI result.
How do I start a full mock?
Sign in with your email, open the practice room, choose your language and select Full mock. It plays two dialogues back to back and shows feedback after you finish. Your first mock uses your two free dialogues; after that, a mock exam is A$9.
