Language rules for Burmese CCL
The Burmese entry refers to General Policies A and B. The test uses Standard Burmese; a non-standard form that most speakers cannot understand attracts a penalty. Candidates should use culturally sensitive registers.
Borrowed words from English or another language are allowed when they are commonly used in Standard Burmese.

Which variety of Burmese should I use in the CCL test?
The test uses Standard Burmese; non-standard Burmese that most Burmese speakers cannot understand is penalised. Borrowed words are allowed when they are commonly used in standard Burmese.
How often is the Burmese CCL test held?
NAATI tests high-demand languages every month and the others at least 4 times a year, and bookings close 1 week before each session. As of 25 Oct 2026, 1:00 PM (Sydney time), NAATI lists 8 upcoming Burmese sessions, 8 of them with seats; the next one with seats is Wed 18 Nov 2026. The current list is at naaticcl.com/naati-ccl-test-dates/burmese: we check it every 2 hours, and NAATI updates its own list about once a day.
Is the NAATI CCL test available in Burmese?
Yes. Burmese is one of the languages NAATI tests for the CCL. Passing can support a claim for 5 points towards your skilled migration score. We currently publish 57 Burmese practice dialogues.
Do I need a NAATI CCL Burmese coaching class?
Not necessarily. naaticcl.com is a self-practice site, not a coaching class: you work through the 57 Burmese dialogues and 28 mock tests on your own, at exam speed, and the AI marks each segment for what you kept, left out, changed or added. How many marks do I need to pass?
63 out of 90, and at least 29 on each of the two dialogues. Marks come off for information you leave out, add, or change, and for language quality. We mark against the same published categories; the score is our own model's estimate, not a NAATI result.
How much does the real Burmese CCL test cost?
AUD $814 (NAATI fees for 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027), and you do not know the result until NAATI finalises it. That is the whole reason this site exists: know where you stand before you pay to sit it.
Can I wear headphones in the test?
No — no headsets, headphones or earphones of any kind. You use the computer's speakers and microphone. Older guides that tell you to wear wired headphones will get you caught out on the day. Only one screen is allowed at any time; your phone or tablet acts as the second camera.
Can I take notes?
Yes, with a pen and loose sheets of paper only. No typing of notes, and no electronic resources — dictionaries, web browsing, live captions or transcription — during the test.
What if I miss something — can I hear a segment again?
Yes. One repeated segment per dialogue is allowed without penalty. Further repeats incur mark deductions.
How long until I get my result, and how long is it valid?
NAATI's candidate instructions say results come by email within 4–6 weeks; they are issued individually as they are finalised, so two people who sat on the same day can hear back on different days. The result is valid for five years from the date of issue (three years if issued before 9 August 2022) and cannot be extended. You can apply to sit again six months before expiry, according to NAATI’s FAQ.
Is CCL still worth 5 migration points in Burmese?
Yes. Credentialed Community Language points remain in the 189, 190 and 491 points tests. CCL is not a professional interpreting credential — passing it does not qualify you to work as an interpreter.
