Mr. Petrovski, before we prepare your divorce application today, could you tell me exactly when you and your wife first separated?

That's fine — living together briefly during separation doesn't affect your case, but you'll still need twelve months of continuous separation before filing your application.

Parenting arrangements are decided separately from the divorce itself. If you and your wife can't agree, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia can decide.

Property settlement is handled separately too. You have twelve months after the divorce is finalised to apply, otherwise you may lose that right entirely.
