Good afternoon, I'm the pre-admission nurse from Logan Hospital. Before your gallbladder surgery, I need to check your medical history and current medications.
Waan ku faraxsanahay inaad i weydiiso. Waxaan qabaa cudurka macaanka, sonkorowga, balse ma qaato dawooyin kale oo joogto ah oo aan kaaga sheegin.
Your surgery is scheduled for Thursday the fourteenth at seven thirty in the morning. You must not eat or drink after midnight the night before.
Haa, waan fahmay. Laakiin ma qaadan karaa dawadayda sonkorowga subaxdaas, mise waa inaan sugaa ilaa dhakhtarku i arko?
You may take a small sip of water with your morning medication, but nothing else. Do you have any allergies to anaesthesia or antibiotics?
Ma lihi wax xasaasiyad ah oo la xiriira dawooyinka suuxinta, laakiin hore ayaan uga xasaasi ahaa antibiyootiga la yiraahdo Penicillin.
Thank you. The surgeon will explain the risks of general anaesthesia and ask you to sign a consent form before the operation.
Waxaan walaacsanahay in halis igu soo gaarto, sida infekshin ama dhiig baxa. Ma jiri karto wax khatar ah oo aan aad u weyneyn?
The risks are low, but every operation carries some risk of infection or bleeding. Will someone be able to drive you home and stay with you?
Haa, walaashay ayaa i qaadi doonta oo la joogi doonta guriga ugu yaraan laba maalmood.
Good. Please arrive at the hospital by six that morning with your Medicare card and a list of your current medications.
Mahadsanid, waan fahmay dhammaan tilmaamaha. Waxaan iman doonaa saqafka lixda subaxnimo sida aad sheegtay.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicareKu dhawaaq sida ay tahay 'Medicare' - waa magac nooc ah oo aan loo turjumin, sidaas awgeed si toos ah ugu sheeg Soomaaliga.
- medicare cardKu dhawaaq 'Medicare card' si toos ah, ama sheeg 'kaadhka Medicare'.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Somali dialogues · All languages
