What's been happening with your ear? You mentioned it feels blocked—when did you first notice this, and has your hearing changed at all?
Do you have any pain, discharge, or dizziness? Also, have you been swimming or gotten water in that ear recently?
I can see quite a bit of wax buildup blocking your ear canal. I'd like to refer you to the audiology clinic at Bendigo Health for microsuction.
The procedure usually takes about twenty minutes. The audiologist gently suctions the wax out under a microscope—it's not painful, just a little noise.
I'll send the referral now. They have an opening this Thursday at three thirty in the afternoon, and it won't cost you anything if you're bulk-billed.
Until then, you can use a few drops of olive oil each night to soften the wax. Please don't insert cotton buds or anything else into your ear.
