Weight Management Referral
Dietitian (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Cantonese) talk through “Weight Management Referral”. You interpret both ways — English into Cantonese, and Cantonese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in, Mr Cheung. Your GP referred you for a chronic disease management plan to help manage your weight — let's start with your main goals.
唔該晒。其實我隻膝頭近排成日痛,我諗住問吓可唔可以直接做手術減肥,仲使唔使咁麻煩做呢個計劃呀?
Under this Medicare-funded chronic disease management plan, you're entitled to up to five subsidised visits this calendar year to focus on diet and gentle exercise.
即係話,如果我跟住呢個飲食運動計劃都減唔到,係咪之後就一定可以安排做手術架?
Surgery's generally only considered if diet and exercise changes haven't reduced your risk enough — your GP and a surgeon would assess that together, without a set deadline.
咁我隻膝頭又痛,好難做劇烈運動,有冇啲溫和啲嘅運動方法呀?
Swimming or a stationary bike could work well without stressing your knee — I'll also refer you to a physiotherapist for a proper assessment.
咁樣好呀,多謝晒。咁呢個計劃可以睇幾多次呀?
Your plan covers five visits total this year; after that, you'd need a new referral from your GP to continue.
哦,明白。不過我唔食牛肉架,唔知個飲食計劃可唔可以避開牛肉呀?
That's fine, we can build a plan without beef and focus on other lean proteins and vegetables instead.
好呀,多謝晒你咁詳細解釋,我下次覆診再嚟啦。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicare直接講「Medicare」呢個英文詞就得,因為係專有名詞,廣東話冇對應詞。
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Cantonese dialogues · All languages
