Overcharged for a Washing Machine
Fair Trading Officer (speaking English) and Consumer (speaking Filipino) talk through “Overcharged for a Washing Machine”. You interpret both ways — English into Filipino, and Filipino into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in, Ms. Santos. You mentioned a store charged you more than the advertised price for a washing machine — can you tell me what happened?
Do you still have the receipt and a photo of that price sign? Those will help if the store won't correct the charge voluntarily.
Under Australian Consumer Law, businesses must charge the price they advertise. I'd suggest lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading so they can contact the store formally.
Lodging the complaint is free. There's no fixed deadline, but Fair Trading usually contacts the business within about two to three weeks.
Yes, if mediation fails you can apply to NCAT for a refund order. There's no strict deadline, but it's best to act while your evidence is fresh.
Bring your receipt, the photo of the sign, and any messages with the manager. The sixty-two dollar difference should be clearly shown in your complaint.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Filipino dialogues · All languages
