Take a seat, Mr. Patel. You mentioned earlier that your right ear feels blocked and uncomfortable—can you tell me more about what you're experiencing today?
How long has this blockage lasted, and have you noticed any hearing loss, ringing, or discomfort in that ear recently?
It sounds like earwax buildup, which is quite common. I'll examine your ear first to make sure there's no perforation before we proceed with irrigation.
The procedure is painless—we'll use warm water to gently flush the wax out. We can do it here at Traralgon Medical Centre today.
Please avoid swimming, showering with your head underwater, or inserting anything into your ear for two days afterwards, including cotton buds, to prevent irritation.
If your hearing hasn't improved within two weeks, book another appointment with the nurse, or see your GP sooner if you notice pain or discharge.
