Thanks for coming in today. You're now twenty-six weeks pregnant, so it's time to book your glucose tolerance test at the clinic.
Gracias. Estoy un poco nerviosa, la verdad, porque nunca me he hecho esta prueba antes. ¿En qué consiste exactamente?
It's simple - you fast for eight hours first, then drink a glucose solution and give two blood samples over the following two hours.
Entiendo. ¿Y puedo hacerlo por la mañana antes de ir al trabajo, o tengo que pedir el día libre?
Morning is best. Book it for Thursday at eight a.m. at Nepean Hospital, and you should be finished by around ten thirty, before lunch.
Perfecto, el jueves me queda bien. ¿Cuándo sabré los resultados de la prueba?
Results usually come back within two working days, normally by Friday. If your levels are high, we'll refer you to the diabetes education clinic for extra support.

Don't eat or drink anything except water after your evening meal the night before your test. Avoid sugary drinks completely until the blood test is fully done.
