Good morning, my name is Sarah, I'm your physiotherapist today. Can you tell me when your back pain started and what you were doing at the time?
On a scale of one to ten, how severe is the pain right now? Does it radiate down your leg at all, or do you feel any numbness or tingling?
Have you had any treatment before, such as an X-ray at Westmead Hospital, or previous physiotherapy sessions for this same back pain issue?
If the pain doesn't improve within two weeks despite rest, ice, and gentle exercise, I'll refer you to your GP for an X-ray.
Try gentle stretching exercises twice daily, avoid any heavy lifting at work, and use an ice pack for about fifteen minutes when it's sore.
You can take Panadol regularly for pain relief. If that isn't enough to manage it, please see your GP about a stronger option.
