Mr. Coelho, your ultrasound at Blacktown Hospital shows a three-centimetre mass in the right lobe of your liver, and we need further tests.
Doutora, isso significa que é câncer? Estou muito preocupado, porque minha mãe teve o mesmo problema há alguns anos.
We can't confirm cancer yet — a biopsy will tell us whether the mass is cancerous or benign. I'll refer you to Liverpool Hospital's liver specialist team.
Entendo, doutora. Quando será feita essa biópsia? Tenho medo de esperar muito tempo, porque já não durmo bem desde o exame.
The biopsy is scheduled for next Thursday, five days from now. It's a quick procedure using a fine needle guided by ultrasound.

Yes, please fast for six hours beforehand. We'll use local anaesthetic only, so you won't need a general anaesthetic or overnight stay.
