Mr. Reyes, thank you for coming to Fairfield Police Station. Can you describe what happened before you noticed the smoke last Thursday night?

Did you smell anything unusual, like petrol, before the fire started? We'll also need to log this with a police event number for our records.

You can give the event number straight to your insurer, by phone or online; you don't need to visit an office in person for that.
