I'd like to start your mother, Mumtaz, on donepezil for her dementia today. It may slow memory decline, though it won't reverse the damage already done.

Nausea and dizziness are common in the first two weeks after starting, usually mild and temporary. They typically settle once her body adjusts to the medication.
