Mrs. Santos, thanks for coming in today. Can you tell me exactly what's been happening with your right ear, and when the trouble started?
How long has it felt blocked, and have you noticed any pain, discharge, or dizziness along with the fullness?
It sounds like a build-up of ear wax. I'd like to do an ear irrigation at Bathurst Base Hospital's audiology clinic this afternoon, if that suits you.
No, it shouldn't hurt at all. We'll use warm water to gently flush the wax out, and the whole process usually takes about ten minutes.
It's not permanent, unless there's an underlying infection, which I don't suspect in your case. Your hearing should return fully once the wax clears.
The appointment is at 3:30 this afternoon, and it's bulk-billed through Medicare, so there won't be any out-of-pocket cost for you today.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Filipino dialogues · All languages
