Liver Cancer Diagnosis and Surgical Planning
Doctor (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Finnish) talk through “Liver Cancer Diagnosis and Surgical Planning”. You interpret both ways — English into Finnish, and Finnish into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Your recent scan at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre shows a tumour in the right lobe of your liver, measuring about four centimetres across, with no visible spread.
Voi ei, en osannut odottaa tätä. Onko kasvain levinnyt muualle, vai onko se vielä paikallinen?
The scans show no spread beyond the liver, which means surgery could be an option, provided your liver function remains stable enough to tolerate the operation.
Selvä, se on hyvä uutinen. Kuinka pian leikkaus voitaisiin tehdä, ja kuinka pitkä toipumisaika siitä yleensä on?
We'd aim to schedule surgery within three weeks, followed by about six weeks of recovery before starting any further treatment, such as chemotherapy if needed.
Entä työni? Voinko palata töihin heti toipumisen jälkeen, vai tarvitsenko pidempää sairauslomaa?
Most patients need at least eight weeks off work, though this can vary depending on your job, your recovery speed, and any complications that arise.
Ymmärrän. Kuinka usein minun täytyy käydä seurantakuvauksissa leikkauksen jälkeen, ja pitääkö minun muuttaa ruokavaliotani?
You'll need follow-up scans every three months for the first year, then every six months, and you should avoid alcohol completely for the best recovery.
Kiitos selityksestä, tohtori. Milloin voin varata ajan kirurgille keskustellaksemme leikkauksen yksityiskohdista?
Our clinic coordinator will call you tomorrow to book a surgical consultation, usually within the next ten days, before your admission date is confirmed.
Kiitos paljon, tohtori. Tunnen oloni paljon rauhallisemmaksi nyt, kun tiedän seuraavat askeleet.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Finnish dialogues · All languages
