Neighbour Noise Dispute

Good afternoon. I understand you are having an ongoing noise issue with your neighbour. How long has this been happening?
你好。大概三个月了。他们几乎每个周末都开派对到凌晨两三点，音乐声特别大，我们全家都睡不好。
That sounds exhausting. Have you spoken to your neighbour directly about how the noise is affecting your family?
当面说过两次，当时答应得很好，过两周又恢复原样了。我不想报警把关系闹僵，毕竟是邻居。
That is a very common situation, and mediation is designed exactly for it. We arrange a meeting with a neutral mediator, free of charge.
免费的？那调解出来的结果有法律效力吗？如果他答应了又不遵守怎么办？
The agreement is voluntary, but written down and signed. Most people keep to it, because the alternative is council complaints or a noise order.
如果调解失败，我下一步可以怎么做？我需要先收集证据吗？
Keep a simple diary of dates and times, and any recordings. You can then contact the council or apply for a noise abatement order.
好，我从这周开始记录。调解会议大概多久能安排上？地点在哪里？
Usually within two to three weeks, at our centre or online if that is easier. I will send you the forms today.
