Good afternoon Mr Dissanayake, I'm the pre-admission nurse from Fiona Stanley Hospital. Your surgery is booked for Thursday at seven thirty in the morning, and you'll need to fast beforehand.
හොඳයි නර්ස්, තේරෙනවා. නමුත් ටිකක් වතුර හරි බොන්න පුළුවන්ද? මට වතුර නැතුව ඉන්න ටිකක් අමාරුයි.
Yes, you may drink small sips of plain water up until two hours before your surgery time, but nothing at all after that, not even water.
හරි, තේරුණා. මට හෘද රෝගයට Warfarin බේත් ගන්නවා. ඒක නවත්තන්න ඕනිද, නැත්නම් සාමාන්යයෙන් ගන්නම ඕනිද?
You must stop Warfarin five days before surgery; if you continue taking it, the surgery could be cancelled due to bleeding risk.
හරි, මම වෛද්යවරයාගෙන් අහල නවත්තන්නම්. නමුත් මගේ රුධිර පීඩන පෙති ගැන කොහොමද? ඒවත් නවත්තන්න ඕනිද?
Yes, continue your blood pressure tablets as usual, with just a small sip of water only.

Please arrive at the hospital by six o'clock, bring your current medication list, and one family member may wait in the reception area.
