Full transcript
Before we begin, could you describe exactly what changed at your job after you told the manager about your pregnancy in March?
Did your employer give you anything in writing explaining why your role and hours were changed, or was it only said verbally?
That comment may amount to unlawful pregnancy discrimination under the Fair Work Act, and the Fair Work Ombudsman can investigate how your employer treated you.
You don't need to resign at all, and you can lodge a complaint with the Fair Work Ombudsman or the Australian Human Rights Commission.
If you're actually dismissed, you must file an unfair dismissal claim with the Fair Work Commission within 21 days, but discrimination complaints allow more time.
Bring your work rosters, any text messages, and the names of colleagues who witnessed the comment; we can start your complaint online today.
