Hello, I'm Daniel, an organiser from the United Workers Union. I'm visiting the Toowoomba distribution centre this week to talk with staff about membership options.
Hola, gracias por venir. Trabajo aquí hace ocho meses y nunca nadie me había explicado esto. ¿Cuánto cuesta afiliarse al sindicato?
Membership costs nine dollars twenty a week, taken straight from your pay. It covers legal advice, pay negotiations and workplace safety support.
Entiendo, nueve dólares con veinte a la semana no es mucho. ¿Pero qué beneficios tengo si me afilio? ¿Me ayudan si tengo un problema con mi jefe?
If your hours get cut, you're underpaid, or there's a dispute, the union can negotiate directly with management and represent you at Fair Work if needed.

Under Australian law, your employer cannot dismiss or punish you for joining a union. It's completely confidential unless you choose to tell them.
