Thanks for bringing Mateo in today, Sofia. Can you tell me how many times he's had watery stools since yesterday morning, and when it started?
Buenos días, enfermera. Ha tenido seis episodios de diarrea líquida desde ayer por la mañana, y también ha vomitado dos veces.
Has he had any fever, and is he still able to keep down small sips of water or juice, or does he refuse everything?
No ha tenido fiebre, pero apenas quiere beber agua, y cuando toma un poco, a veces lo vomita de nuevo.
Is he still producing wet nappies, and roughly how many has he had in the last twelve hours compared with a normal day?

I recommend giving him Hydralyte oral rehydration solution, available at Chemist Warehouse, in small frequent sips rather than large amounts at once, especially after each loose stool.

Offer one teaspoon every five minutes, increasing slowly if he tolerates it, and wash your hands thoroughly before preparing his food or changing his nappy.

Bland foods like rice, banana or toast are fine if he wants them, but if diarrhoea lasts beyond three days or you see blood, take him to Liverpool Hospital.
