Reporting a Workplace Back Injury
Physiotherapist (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Spanish) talk through “Reporting a Workplace Back Injury”. You interpret both ways — English into Spanish, and Spanish into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Can you walk me through exactly how your back was injured while you were lifting boxes at the warehouse yesterday afternoon?
On a scale of one to ten, how severe is the pain right now, and does it travel down either leg at all?
Have you ever injured your back before this incident, and are you currently taking any medication or painkillers for the discomfort?
No, nunca me había pasado antes.
Your lower back muscles are quite tight and inflamed. I'd like an X-ray done at Wollongong Hospital, and please avoid lifting anything over five kilograms for the next two weeks.
Entiendo.
You'll need a medical certificate from your GP confirming you're unfit for heavy duties, and we should lodge a workers' compensation claim through icare New South Wales as soon as possible.
Yes, notify your employer within the next few days. If the claim isn't lodged soon, your weekly payments could be delayed considerably.
Muchas gracias, doctora.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Spanish dialogues · All languages
