HIV Diagnosis Counselling Session
HIV Counsellor (speaking English) and Client (speaking Swahili) talk through “HIV Diagnosis Counselling Session”. You interpret both ways — English into Swahili, and Swahili into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Mr. Omari, thank you for waiting. I have your blood test results, and I want to explain clearly what they show and what support is available to you.
Asante daktari, lakini nashtuka kidogo. Nina wasiwasi mkubwa...
You are not required to tell your employer, and having HIV does not stop you from working. With treatment, you can continue your job safely and normally.
Some people notice mild nausea or tiredness in the first weeks, but this usually settles. Under Medicare, your monthly medication cost stays low, not in the thousands.
You're not legally required to disclose, though we strongly encourage telling your wife so she can get tested and access support too.
You'll return every three months for a blood test to check your viral load, and we'll adjust your treatment plan if needed.
Positive Life WA runs weekly peer support meetings in Fremantle; if Wednesdays don't suit you, they also offer phone counselling.
Asante sana kwa msaada wenu wote. Nitajaribu kuhudhuria kikundi hicho wiki ijayo.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Swahili dialogues · All languages
