Hello, I'm Sarah, one of the registered nurses here at Logan Hospital. Can you tell me exactly what happened before Ali's breathing suddenly became difficult this afternoon?
Has he used his blue reliever puffer today, and if so, how many puffs did you give him before arriving here?
We're currently giving Ali six puffs of Ventolin through a spacer every twenty minutes, and we're monitoring his oxygen levels closely.
His oxygen saturation is currently ninety-four percent, and it should rise above ninety-six percent after this next dose, around half past three.
If Ali doesn't respond well to the next dose within the hour, we will admit him overnight for observation and further treatment.
Please also continue using the spacer correctly at home, avoid known triggers such as dust or smoke, and book a GP review within two days.
