Thank you for coming in, Mrs. Tran. We've reviewed Lan's weight chart and blood results from John Hunter Children's Hospital, and I'd like to discuss a treatment plan today.
Her weight loss is concerning, but it's not life-threatening yet if we start treatment now. She's lost about six kilograms since March.
That's a fair concern. We can arrange evening or after-school appointments, and the school can provide exam accommodations if needed, so her studies shouldn't be badly disrupted.
She'll need weekly dietitian visits and fortnightly family therapy sessions for now. We'll monitor her weight closely and adjust the plan as she improves.
Only if she can't meet her nutritional targets orally will we consider a nasogastric tube. Right now, she's eating enough that it's not necessary.
Tôi hiểu rồi, cảm ơn bác sĩ đã giải thích rõ ràng. Tôi sẽ cố gắng giúp cháu ăn uống đều đặn hơn ở nhà.
Let's schedule her first dietitian appointment for this Thursday afternoon, and I'll see you both again in two weeks to review progress.
