Mr Chan, thanks for coming in today. Can you tell me how your vision has been affecting your daily activities lately, especially reading or driving?
依家我隻眼睇嘢矇查查，尤其係夜晚揸車睇路牌睇唔清楚，睇報紙細字都要攞遠啲先睇到。
Your test confirms cataracts in both eyes, more advanced in the left. I'd recommend surgery at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, and the waiting list is about six weeks.
咁做呢個手術洗唔洗好多錢㗎？我驚我張Medicare卡唔夠cover晒喎。
As a public patient, Medicare covers the entire surgery cost, so there's no out-of-pocket expense unless you decide on a private hospital instead.
做手術要幾耐㗎？會唔會好痛㗎？我有啲驚做手術嘅。
We'll use a local anaesthetic, so you'll stay awake but feel no pain. Each eye takes roughly fifteen minutes on the day.
咁做完手術之後幾時可以揸車返工呀？要唔要好耐先可以返去做嘢㗎？
You mustn't drive for twenty-four hours afterwards, and you'll need to use antibiotic drops four times daily. We'll book a follow-up in one week.
我有少少糖尿病噉，唔知會唔會影響到做呢個手術嘅風險呀？
If your diabetes isn't well controlled, we might need a blood sugar check beforehand; otherwise the risk of complications is quite low.

Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- waiting list講「等候名單」就得,呢個係好通用嘅講法。
- medicare直接講「Medicare」呢個英文詞就得，因為係專有名詞，廣東話冇對應詞。
