Hello, I'm Priya, your nurse tonight here in the emergency department. Can you tell me how your breathing feels right now, and when this tightness first started tonight?

Have you used your puffer today? If so, how many times, and did it help ease your breathing at all?

Do you have any allergies, especially to medicines, or asthma triggers such as dust, pollen, or smoke that we should know about?

We're going to start a nebuliser treatment with oxygen right now; this should help open your airways and ease your breathing quickly.

It usually takes about 20 minutes, and we'll monitor your oxygen levels and heart rate closely throughout the whole treatment.
