Good morning Mr Sharma. I've reviewed your scan results from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and I need to explain what we found in your liver today.

The scan shows a tumour about four centimetres in your liver, which appears to be an early-stage cancer. We need further tests to confirm the exact stage.

If the tumour hasn't spread, surgery to remove part of the liver is usually the best option. Otherwise, we may consider chemotherapy or targeted therapy.

Surgery does carry risks like infection or bleeding, but you won't need to stay in hospital for more than five to seven days afterwards.
