Good morning. You have been served with a Statement of Claim from the Local Court of New South Wales regarding an unpaid debt of four thousand five hundred dollars.

This claim states you borrowed money from the plaintiff last year and have not repaid it. Do you agree with this amount?
不是这样的，我已经还了一部分钱，大概两千块，剩下的我们当时说好晚点再还，不是不还。
If you disagree, you must file a Defence within twenty-eight days, otherwise the court may issue a default judgment against you.
如果我没有及时回应，是不是就会自动输掉？有没有办法先协商一下，不用直接上法庭？
Yes, mediation is available before the hearing. It's optional, but many disputes are resolved this way without going to trial.

You can request mediation through the Local Court registry. If both parties agree, a session can be arranged within a few weeks.
