Liver Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Discussion
Doctor (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Mandarin) talk through “Liver Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Discussion”. You interpret both ways — English into Mandarin, and Mandarin into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Good morning, Mrs Li. Your scan results show a small tumour in your liver, about three centimetres wide. We need to discuss the next steps together.
医生,是……是癌症吗?我听到这个消息真的很害怕,这严重吗?
Yes, the biopsy confirmed early-stage liver cancer. I'd like to refer you to a specialist at Westmead Hospital for further assessment next Tuesday at 10am.
那如果需要手术的话,风险大吗?还有没有其他治疗方法?
If the tumour hasn't spread beyond the liver, surgery or targeted ablation are both possible. Otherwise, we may consider chemotherapy or newer immunotherapy drugs.
治疗费用大概要多少?会不会有很严重的副作用?
As a public patient, Medicare covers these treatments in hospital, so you won't need to pay upfront for scans or specialist visits. Side effects vary, but we'll manage them carefully.
像我这种早期的情况,治愈的机会大吗?我很担心家里人会受影响。
With early treatment, many patients recover well. I'll also arrange blood tests and an ultrasound this Thursday to monitor your progress closely.
我听朋友说吃一些中药或者保健品可能对身体好,可以试试吗?
I understand you want to try everything, but please avoid unproven herbal remedies without telling us first, as they can interact with treatment.
好的,我明白了,要是有什么不舒服或者想吃什么药,我会先打电话给医院问清楚。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicare直接说英文 Medicare,不用翻译,因为这是专有名词,中文里没有对应词。
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Mandarin dialogues · All languages
