Reporting a Lottery Scam
Legal Aid Officer (speaking English) and Client (speaking Mandarin) talk through “Reporting a Lottery Scam”. You interpret both ways — English into Mandarin, and Mandarin into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Good morning, thank you for coming in today. Please tell me exactly what happened when you received this phone call about winning an overseas lottery prize.
你好,是这样的,上个星期我接到一个电话,对方说我中了一个国际彩票的大奖,让我先付一笔手续费才能把奖金转给我,我一开始还挺高兴的。
I understand this must be very stressful for you. How much money did you transfer, and to which bank account did you send it?
我一共转了三千澳元,分两次转到他们提供的一个私人银行账户,对方说这样才能证明我是真实的中奖人。
Did you keep any evidence, such as text messages, emails, or the bank transfer receipt from that transaction, by any chance?
有的,我把当时的短信和转账的收据都拍了照片保存下来了,还有微信上的聊天记录也都在。
You should report this immediately to Scamwatch, which is run by the ACCC, and also contact your bank without any delay at all.
我已经很后悔了,请问这笔钱还有可能追回来吗?我真的很担心以后再也拿不回来了。
Unfortunately, there's no guarantee the money can be recovered, but the sooner you report it to your bank, the better the chance of stopping the transfer.
好的,我明白了,我马上去银行说。但是我还有一个问题,这件事会不会影响到我的签证申请?
This scam has nothing to do with your visa status, so please don't worry. Also, contact IDCARE, Australia's national identity and cyber support service, for help protecting your identity.
好,那我先去银行处理转账的事。还有一个小问题,我那份微信聊天记录还没整理完,我回家就把所有截图存好,明天再打电话跟你们确认清楚。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- accc保留英文缩写“ACCC”。
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Mandarin dialogues · All languages
