Reporting a Car Break-In Theft Claim
Claims Officer (speaking English) and Client (speaking Mandarin) talk through “Reporting a Car Break-In Theft Claim”. You interpret both ways — English into Mandarin, and Mandarin into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thank you for calling our claims department, this is Sarah speaking. Before we begin, could you please tell me exactly what items were stolen from your vehicle?
昨晚我把车停在超市停车场,回来的时候发现车窗被砸破了,笔记本电脑和一块手表都不见了。
When did this happen, and have you already reported the incident to the police, obtaining a report number for our records?
事情是昨天晚上大概八点左右在Westfield购物中心的停车场发生的,我已经报警了,拿到了报案编号。
Do you have any receipts, warranty cards, or proof of purchase for the laptop and the watch that were stolen?
笔记本电脑我有发票,是在电子产品商店买的,可是那块手表是朋友送的生日礼物,没有收据。
That's fine, we can still process the claim without a receipt for the watch. Just note that your policy may include an excess, often around 500 dollars, before any payout.
明白了。那大概需要多长时间才能拿到理赔金呢?
Processing times vary, but once we receive all your documents it's often around 10 business days, though this can differ depending on your claim's complexity.
好的,那我需要准备哪些材料交给你们呢?
Please send us the police report, photos of the damaged vehicle, and the laptop receipt as soon as possible, ideally within about a week, to help process your claim.
没问题,我这周之内就把这些资料整理好发给你们。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- excess说“自付额”或“免赔额”。
- police report译为“警方报案记录”或“报警记录”,根据上下文选择更贴切的说法。

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Mandarin dialogues · All languages
