Good morning, I'm the nurse consultant at St Vincent's Hospital. Thank you for coming in today. Could you tell me what concerns bring you to see the plastic surgeon?
医生您好，我两年前摔了一下，鼻子撞歪了，晚上呼吸不太顺畅，而且看着也不太对称，所以想来看看能不能做手术改善一下。
Have you had any previous surgeries, and do you have any allergies to anaesthesia or medication? Also, are you currently a smoker?
我以前没做过手术，也没有对麻药过敏的情况。我以前吸烟，但六个月前已经完全戒掉了。
The procedure usually takes about two hours, and recovery time is around two weeks. You'll need someone to drive you home afterwards.
手术后会很疼吗？肿胀大概要多久才能消退，我需要请假多长时间呢？
Swelling and bruising usually reduce within ten days, though full results can take up to six weeks. We'll book a follow-up appointment then.
那如果我想同时改善外观，这部分医保能报销吗？还是只有矫正呼吸的部分才有报销？
Medicare only covers the medically necessary part, like fixing your breathing, but not the cosmetic reshaping. Those two costs are billed separately.

If you don't have private hospital cover, you'd need to pay the surgeon's fee yourself. Many patients use their private health fund for this.
