Hi, I'm Sarah from the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees' Association. I'm visiting today to talk with warehouse workers about joining the union. Do you have a few minutes to chat?

Great question. As a member, we can negotiate better pay and conditions for you, and support you if there's a problem at work. Without membership, we can't represent you formally.

It's completely optional, never compulsory. The fee is about ten dollars a week, deducted directly from your pay if you choose to join.
ठिक छ। तर म भिसामा छु, के युनियनमा जोडिँदा मेरो भिसामा कुनै असर पर्छ?
No, it won't affect your visa at all. Union membership is open to every worker in Australia, regardless of visa status, and it's protected under Fair Work Commission rules.
अनि सन्तोष लाग्यो। म परिवारसँग कुरा गरेर भोलि जवाफ दिन सक्छु?

No, your employer won't know unless you tell them yourself. Membership details stay confidential between you and the union at all times.

Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
