I'm sorry for your loss. SafeWork NSW is investigating your husband's death at the construction site, and this may lead to a manslaughter charge against the company.

Arrest isn't automatic. SafeWork NSW will investigate and decide whether to charge the company or its officers; if charged, it goes to court, and I'll keep you informed, as this process can take considerable time.

You will not lose your visa by giving a statement. SafeWork NSW investigators will interview you only as a witness, not as a suspect.

You may be entitled to a workers compensation death benefit through the employer's insurer or icare, regardless of the criminal case outcome. A separate civil claim is also possible.

Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
