Mrs Wickramasinghe, thank you for waiting—your eye scan shows cataracts forming in both eyes, with the left one noticeably more advanced than the right.

Cataract surgery is normally done as day surgery under local anaesthetic; the current wait list at Sydney Eye Hospital is roughly six weeks for your side.

Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- private health insurance"පෞද්ගලික සෞඛ්ය රක්ෂණය" ලෙස කියන්න; අවශ්ය නම් "private health insurance" ලෙසද එකතු කළ හැක.
- waiting list"රැඳී සිටින ලැයිස්තුව" හෝ "පෙළ ලැයිස්තුව" ලෙස කෙටියෙන් පවසන්න. සන්දර්භය අනුව "ප්රතිකාර ලබාගැනීමට රැඳී සිටින ලැයිස්තුව" කියා පැහැදිලි කළ හැක.
