Thanks for coming in today. Could you tell me exactly what went wrong with the phone you purchased from JB Hi-Fi a few months ago?
Do you still have the receipt or any other proof of purchase, like a bank statement? Also, is the phone still within its one-year manufacturer warranty?
Under Australian Consumer Law, a bank statement is valid proof of purchase, even without the original receipt. This fault sounds major, so you're entitled to a refund.
If they refuse again, you can lodge an application with NCAT, the Civil and Administrative Tribunal, requesting a formal order for your refund.
The application fee is around fifty dollars, and hearings are usually scheduled within eight weeks of lodging, sometimes sooner if urgent.
Bring your bank statement, clear photos of the fault, and any messages or emails you exchanged with the store staff about the repair refusal.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Sinhala dialogues · All languages
