Clogged Ear Assessment at Wollongong Audiology Clinic
Audiologist (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Sinhala) talk through “Clogged Ear Assessment at Wollongong Audiology Clinic”. You interpret both ways — English into Sinhala, and Sinhala into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in today, Mr. Fernando. Can you tell me more about what's been happening with your ear and when it started?
I'll examine your ear now, and if needed, perform microsuction to gently clear the wax. Have you had any pain, discharge, or dizziness recently?
Medicare covers the basic consultation, and most private health extras policies also cover ear microsuction — it's worth checking your fund's ancillary benefits table.
Yes, you can drive straight afterwards — the procedure doesn't affect your alertness, unless you feel unusually dizzy, in which case wait an hour.
Please avoid getting water in that ear for 24 hours. If the fullness hasn't cleared by next week, I'll refer you to Wollongong Hospital's ENT department.
Let's book a follow-up appointment in two weeks. If your symptoms worsen before then, don't wait — call the clinic straight away for advice.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Sinhala dialogues · All languages
