Take a seat, Mr. Fernández. You mentioned in your message that your employer dismissed you last Friday—can you walk me through exactly what was said?
Sí, claro. Me llamaron a la oficina como a las tres de la tarde y el supervisor solo me dijo que ya no me necesitaban, sin darme ninguna razón clara.
Did your employer give you any written notice, or mention a reason such as misconduct or redundancy before they let you go?
No, nada por escrito, ni un correo ni una carta. Solo me dijo que mi rendimiento no era bueno, pero nunca antes me habían advertido nada en tres años trabajando allí.
If you believe the dismissal was unfair, you have twenty-one days from the date you were sacked to lodge a claim with the Fair Work Commission.

That's an important point—if you don't lodge within that twenty-one day window, you may lose your right to challenge the dismissal altogether.
