Managing a Husband's Acute Diarrhoea at Home
Practice Nurse (speaking English) and Patient's Wife (speaking Vietnamese) talk through “Managing a Husband's Acute Diarrhoea at Home”. You interpret both ways — English into Vietnamese, and Vietnamese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for calling Bankstown Medical Centre, I'm Nurse Delaney. Can you tell me how many times your husband has had diarrhoea since this morning?
Has he had any fever, and is there any blood or mucus in his stools? Also, is he managing to keep fluids down at all?
Mix one sachet of Hydralyte with two hundred millilitres of water, not less. Please don't give Imodium unless the doctor specifically advises it.
Dạ, tôi hiểu rồi, cảm ơn cô. Vậy anh ấy nên ăn những món gì trong lúc này để dễ tiêu hơn ạ?
Offer plain rice, dry toast, and bananas, but avoid dairy, caffeine, and fatty foods until his stomach settles completely.
If he can't keep any fluids down, becomes quite drowsy, or the diarrhoea continues past two days, take him to Bankstown Hospital immediately.
He should continue his blood pressure medication as normal, unless he starts vomiting repeatedly, then skip that dose and call us straight away.
