Appealing a Rejected Health Insurance Claim
Insurance Claims Officer (speaking English) and Client (speaking Croatian) talk through “Appealing a Rejected Health Insurance Claim”. You interpret both ways — English into Croatian, and Croatian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for calling nib, Mr Horvat. I've opened your file about the claim you submitted last week for gallbladder surgery at Cabrini Hospital in Malvern.
Hvala što ste me nazvali. Zanima me zašto je taj zahtjev odbijen, jer sam mislio da je operacija pokrivena mojom policom.
Your hospital cover started only eight months ago, on the first of March. Gallbladder issues have a twelve-month waiting period, unless the condition began after you joined.
Ali moji simptomi su počeli tek prije četiri mjeseca, nakon što sam se pridružio osiguranju. Kako mogu uložiti žalbu?
You can lodge an appeal through the member portal within thirty days. You'll need a letter from your GP confirming the onset date.
Razumijem. A ako žalba ne uspije, koliko bih trebao platiti razliku za bolnicu?
If the appeal's declined, the gap payment would be six hundred and eighty dollars, on top of the five-hundred-dollar excess you've already paid.
To je dosta novca odjednom. Postoji li mogućnost plaćanja na rate?
Yes, we offer weekly instalments over six months with no interest, as long as the first payment is made within fourteen days.
To mi odgovara. Koje točno dokumente trebam poslati uz žalbu?
Please upload the referral letter, the specialist's report, and a signed statement from your GP confirming when symptoms began, through the portal.
Hvala vam puno, sve ću poslati ovaj tjedan preko portala.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Croatian dialogues · All languages
