Mrs. Novotná, thanks for coming in today—can you describe what's going on with your ear, and when the trouble started?
Dobrý den, doktore. Od pátku mám pravé ucho úplně ucpané, slyším jako přes vatu a je to docela nepříjemné.
How long has it felt blocked, and are you experiencing any pain, ringing, dizziness, or discharge along with the muffled hearing?
Bolest necítím, ale trochu mi to ucho hučí a občas se mi lehce zatočí hlava, hlavně když se rychle otočím na stranu.
Looking inside with the otoscope, I can see a large build-up of earwax completely blocking the canal, which explains the muffled hearing and pressure.
Aha, to mě vůbec nenapadlo. Skoro každý den používám vatové tyčinky, možná jsem si tím ucho jen víc ucpala.
I'd recommend olive oil ear drops, used twice daily for five days, to soften the wax before we attempt to remove it here in clinic.
Dobře, budu tedy kapat olivový olej dvakrát denně. Můžu si mezitím zajít zaplavat, mám příští týden plavecký trénink?
Please avoid swimming or inserting cotton buds into your ear until it's fully cleared, otherwise trapped water could lead to a painful infection.
Rozumím, plavání tedy vynechám. A co když se mi to za pár dní vůbec nezlepší, mám přijít znovu k vám?
If your hearing hasn't improved after the drops, I'll refer you to an ENT specialist at Ballarat Base Hospital, with an appointment within ten days.
Děkuji, doktore. Pokud kapky nepomůžou, ráda přijdu na to vyšetření k odbornému lékaři v Ballaratu.
