Thanks for calling Consumer Affairs Victoria today. Could you tell me exactly what happened when you tried to buy that laptop at Officeworks in Ballarat?
That's a fifty dollar difference from the advertised price, which isn't a small amount. Did you show the receipt and the online price to staff?
Under Australian Consumer Law, a store can't refuse to honour an advertised price just because of a pricing error on their website.
First, put your complaint in writing to Officeworks head office and ask them to refund the fifty dollar difference promptly, in a reasonable time.
If Officeworks doesn't resolve it directly after your written complaint, you can lodge a dispute with VCAT, since your purchase happened here in Victoria.
VCAT? Daar heb ik nog nooit van gehoord. Is dat hetzelfde als een rechtbank?
VCAT is a tribunal, not a court, so it's usually faster, cheaper, and there's no need for a lawyer to represent you there.

Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
