Before we prepare your statement, can you walk me through exactly what happened outside the Kent Hotel on Saturday night, step by step?
Natuurlijk. Ik stond buiten te wachten op mijn vriend, en die man begon me plotseling te duwen en te schreeuwen zonder enige reden.
Did the other man approach you first, or did you walk toward him after the argument started near the entrance around eleven pm?
Hij kwam recht op mij af, ik heb geen stap in zijn richting gezet totdat hij mij vastgreep bij mijn arm.
When he swung at you, did you only push him away to defend yourself, or did you strike him back more than once afterward?

The Kent Hotel has CCTV covering the car park, and two witnesses gave statements to NSW Police describing how the fight unfolded that night.
