Explaining a Concussion After a Fall
Doctor (speaking English) and Daughter (speaking Italian) talk through “Explaining a Concussion After a Fall”. You interpret both ways — English into Italian, and Italian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Good afternoon, I'm Dr. Nguyen from Barwon Health. Your mother fell at home on Thursday and hit her head, so we scanned her brain this morning.
Grazie, dottoressa.
The scan showed no bleeding in the brain, which is reassuring, but she has a mild concussion. We need to monitor her closely for 24 hours.
Capisco.
Watch for vomiting, worsening headache, unusual drowsiness or confusion that doesn't improve. If any of these happen, bring her back to the emergency department immediately.
Give her paracetamol only for pain. Avoid ibuprofen or aspirin, as these can increase the risk of bleeding after a head injury.
Book a follow-up with her GP within three days. She should stay off work for at least one week while she recovers.
She doesn't need complete bed rest. Short walks around the house with assistance are fine, but avoid stairs alone and skip strenuous activity.
Perfetto, grazie mille.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Italian dialogues · All languages
