Clogged Ear Consultation
Audiologist (speaking English) and Client (speaking Japanese) talk through “Clogged Ear Consultation”. You interpret both ways — English into Japanese, and Japanese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

You mentioned your right ear has felt blocked since Monday morning—can you tell me if you've noticed any pain, discharge, or ringing as well?
Have you been swimming lately, or using cotton buds regularly to clean inside your ears, especially over the past week?
That could explain it—swimming often traps water in the canal, and cotton buds usually push wax further in rather than removing it properly.
I'll use an otoscope to check for wax buildup, fluid, or signs of infection, then may recommend softening drops for three days before syringing.
That's important to know—if you've reacted to drops before, we won't use an oil-based solution; instead we'll choose a gentler saline option.
If the blockage doesn't clear within a week after treatment, I'll refer you to Prince of Wales Hospital's ENT clinic for further assessment.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
