Consultation for Acute Diarrhoea
Practice Nurse (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Japanese) talk through “Consultation for Acute Diarrhoea”. You interpret both ways — English into Japanese, and Japanese into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

I'm glad you came in today, Mr. Tanaka. Since yesterday morning, how many times have you had diarrhoea, and was it watery or loose?
はい、昨日の朝からずっと下痢が続いていて、今までに七回ほどトイレに行きました。ほとんど水のような便でした。
Have you also noticed any blood, mucus, or fever, and have you travelled overseas or eaten at a restaurant recently?
いいえ、血や粘液は見ていませんが、少し熱っぽい感じがします。先週、友人と海鮮のレストランで食事をしました。
Are you managing to keep fluids down, and have you taken any medication such as loperamide, antibiotics, or antacids?
水分は少しずつ飲めていますが、下痢止めの薬はまだ飲んでいません。抗生物質も服用していません。
I'd like you to drink oral rehydration solution regularly and avoid dairy or greasy food for now. I'll refer you to Wollongong Hospital pathology for a stool test.
先生、検査は今日中に受けた方がいいですか?それとも明日の朝でも大丈夫でしょうか?
Please collect a small stool sample tomorrow morning and drop it off before ten o'clock. If symptoms don't improve within three days, please go to the emergency department.
分かりました。明日の朝、少量を清潔な容器に入れて、十時までに持って行きます。
Let's book a follow-up appointment for Thursday afternoon to review your test results and check how you're feeling by then.
ありがとうございます。木曜日の午後で大丈夫です。それまでに体調が良くなることを願っています。
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- emergency department「救急部門」または「救急外来」と説明的に訳すのが適切。頭字語のEDが出た場合も同様に訳す。
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Japanese dialogues · All languages
