Mr. Chan, thank you for coming in today. Can you tell me more about the chest tightness you've been feeling this past week?
How long does the tightness usually last, and does it happen at rest or only when you're active?
This sounds like stable angina, which is common but needs proper management. I'd like to organise a stress test at Box Hill Hospital before we discuss medication options.
The stress test is safe and closely monitored by our cardiac team. We'll schedule it within two weeks, and I'll prescribe a GTN spray for sudden episodes in the meantime.
If the pain lasts longer than ten minutes or doesn't ease with the spray, call triple zero immediately — don't drive yourself to hospital.
You can keep walking at a gentle pace, but stop immediately if the tightness returns. Avoid heavy lifting until after the stress test.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
