Full transcript
Good morning. I'm the Youth Justice Officer handling your son's case. He's been referred to a Youth Justice Conference instead of appearing before the Children's Court.
This conference is a restorative justice process. Your son will meet the shop owner, discuss what happened, and agree on an outcome plan together.
Yes, attendance is required. If he doesn't attend or doesn't complete the plan, the case can be referred back to the Children's Court for sentencing.
The plan might include a written apology, some community work, counselling sessions, or an agreement to repay the shop owner for damages caused.
Don't worry, we can schedule the conference around his school timetable. It will be arranged after referral, at a convenient location and time for everyone.
Yes, you should attend to support him. A lawyer isn't required, but you're welcome to bring another support person if you like.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Mandarin dialogues · All languages
